My Favorite Project

"Narrative Writing"

It was a wonderful day when our lovely professor in Oral Communication, Ma'am Solayao discussed about Martin Joa's five speech styles which includes the frozen, formal, consultative, casual, and intimate styles. After the discussion, we were tasked to do a short film that would briefly show or include all the types of speech styles. The next thing we did was to choose our own group mates which led for us, my close friends to be grouped together but an additional was the one and only boy in our group. We were given the time to prepare and plan for what we would do for our presentation or project in fact it's not a project but also have been considered as our practical summative test which disregarded of having an essay exam. So obviously we didn't have a written exam so anyways, we feel more comfortable in doing films rather than writing essays.

We had tons of ideas booming inside of our head, we did a brain storming for the topic or ideas for the plot of the film we did. First I was able to suggest an inspires story from the Tagalog movie "Four sisters and a wedding", since we were all girls except for one of our members which would be perfect for the distributions of the members. Then many plots came in and because of that we were able to continue our conversations with the use of group chats and still searching for a great and exciting plot that would really give the justice for the use of all of the five speech styles. We considered all of these styles which had us came up with the idea of a "Cardo; Ang Probinsyano" inspires film which we thought will suit the styles of speech. After finalizing the scripts, distribution of tasks and also thinking about the props that are needed, we decided to schedule to shoot the film.

So we scheduled and everything was packed and ordered. On the next meeting, we went straight to one of our member's house and there we searched all over their place for a good shot in filming some specific scenes for the movie. After lots of adventures, we finally got the perfect spot that was exactly what we were looking for. So there we started filming the scenes where my character will be running and chasing the drug dealer and we added a clash or a hint of comedy for the purpose of just adding excitement to the film.
